Proper 15

John 6.51-58

Strong language (AAA)

We use metaphors when we talk of people being ‘consumed by passion’, ‘eaten up with jealousy’, ‘devouring ideas’. We don’t mean it literally. It’s extravagant language for our indescribable, deepest feelings.

You are what you eat (CYP)

The bread of heaven is not just something he brings – he is the bread of lifehimself. To be united to him is to be united to the very source of life.
