Holding on to hope
Genesis 37:1-4,12-28Jacob shows favouritism to Joseph, buying him a special robe. His jealous brothers plot to kill Joseph but end up selling him into slavery in Egypt.
The story of Joseph takes many twists and turns. He is favoured and given promises for the future, but this doesn’t turn out so well in his family relationships. His situation could seem pretty hopeless, yet God held on to him – and it becomes clear as his story unfolds that he also holds on to God. How can we do the same?
