God of glory
We may not have seen a star in the east,
Risen Lord Jesus, breaking forth from the tomb,
God of the journey,
Jesus called the disciples and gave them a job,
Jesus saw Matthew sitting in his tax collector’s booth.
Jesus told his disciples to go up the mountain.
Lord God, we know how horrible it feels not to be recognised.
Lord God, as we come to you today, we will hear difficult words.
As Christmas draws near, we gather to worship
God of light, we look around and we see your brightness shining:
Lord, we praise and thank you for the joy and wonder of Christmas,
