'Hmm,' said Dad. 'So maybe she's upset. Of course she shouldn't hurt you, but maybe she hasn't realised how hard her kicks are. Maybe you could try saying sorry for not talking to her and show her the bruises and ask her to stop kicking you.'

Becky was very surprised when Hannah came to talk to her in the playground. And even more surprised when Hannah said, 'I'm sorry. I haven't been a very good friend lately.'

They had a good chat, and Becky said that Hannah's Dad was right – she had been upset, and she didn't mean to hurt Hannah.

'I didn't mean to hurt you either,' said Hannah. 'Can we be friends again?'
