A time of five weeks in which we accept Luke’s invitation to be caught up in the big story of God’s creation and redemption of the world.
The kingdom of God is near
As Advent begins we learn to spot signs that the kingdom of God is very near.
This week's reading, Luke 21.25-26, provides an opportunity to:
- identify the direction of the Advent readings (AAA and CYP)
- recognise that we use signs to understand our context (AAA and CYP)
- understand the nature of the contemporary signs used in Luke’s writing (AAA and CYP)
- explore the meaning of the phrase ‘the kingdom of God’. (AAA and CYP).
