Drama: Peter and Andrew discuss what Jesus might have meant

Andrew: Whoever that is. Jesus calls this Spirit ‘he’. It must be some kind of person.

Peter: So, this person is going to come when Jesus leaves us?

Andrew: That’s right. He won’t come until Jesus leaves us.

Peter: I’d rather keep Jesus. Why can’t things stay the same?

Andrew: Have you noticed that when Jesus talks about the Father, it’s different from the way we do? I mean, when he says it, it’s like he really is talking about his own dear Father. And I think he needs to go home to him.

Peter: The thought of losing Jesus scares me! What if we don’t get on with this ‘Spirit’ person?

Andrew: I don’t think it’ll be a flesh-and-blood person. I mean, spirits aren’t, are they? We won’t be able to see it…I mean, him.

Peter: But we’ll be able to feel him with us, to sense his presence?

Andrew: Yes. He’ll help us to cope without Jesus.

Peter: You mean he’ll comfort us?

Andrew: Yes, and more than that. He’ll guide us and help us to spread the word about Jesus.

Peter: How will we know we can trust him?

Andrew: Because he seems to come from the Father, too. It’s as if Jesus, God and the Spirit are so close, they’re like one person.

Peter: It’s all a bit much to take in.

Andrew: Think of it as God being with us in three different ways.

Peter: Then we can’t fail!
