Invite six people to hold an unlit candle/tealight. For safety, these could be battery-powered.

As the passage is read, at each reference to ‘light’, ‘shine’, ‘glory’ or ‘brightness’ in the first half of the reading (vv.1-3), light a candle (e.g. in v.1 at the words ‘shine’, ‘light’ and ‘glory’ – so three candles are lit).

For the second half (vv.4-6), the candleholders and the original reader read these verses together.

At the end of the reading the candles are placed together on a table, to create a bright cluster of light.
